In this class we will focus on one of two edge-to-edge quilting designs to finish your quilt top; the one you made in the “Now You See, Now You Don’t” class or a quilt of equivalent size described in the supply sheet. This process is relatively fast depending on the size hoop used for the process. Since this is a small quilt, we will use the smallest design of the two designs mentioned in the supply sheet. (One design is general for a generic quilt, and one is a holiday theme) Quilting with an embroidery hoop is efficient for table runners, lap quilts, and twin-size quilts. Larger quilts may be done with this method. However, larger hoops require more manipulation. Leave the large quilts for your long-armer and finish your smaller quilts with the pride of doing it yourself.
To facilitate learning the process, the size of the quilt top will be limited to one of two options:
Finish the top for the class “Now You See It, Now You Don’t which is approximately 27” x 27”
Bring a quilt top ready to quilt with (4) 11- or 12-inch blocks sashed with 1 ½ or 2” strips and borders any size up to 3 inches. The blocks should have varying simple patterns to create different looks for the patterns to be quilted.
